On this page I collect my observations of the spiral galaxy NGC
3628 in
the constellation Leo, which is seen from the edge.
Introduction
The spiral galaxy NGC 3628 in
the constellation Leo is forms a conspicuous group with M 65 and M
66 (Leo Triplet) and is seen from the edge; it is the faintest of
the three galaxies in the triplet. The Leo
Triplet cannot
be observed as a whole in the eVscope (about 1.2° distance to the other
two galaxies).
Size: 8' x 2' (Stoyan)
Distance: 40 million light years
Rating: * (Stoyan)
