Introduction | Map | My Own Photos | My Own Observations | References
On this page I collect my observations of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 3227 and of the elliptical galaxy NGC 3226 in the constellation Leo.
The barred spiral galaxy NGC 3227 in the constellation Leo interacts with the elliptical galaxy NGC 3226 and forms a group with it (Arp 94 or Holm 187). Both galaxies are members of the NGC 3227 Group of galaxies, which is a member of the Leo II Groups, a series of galaxies and galaxy clusters strung out from the right edge of the Virgo Supercluster.
Further galaxies on a Vespera Pro photo are the spiral galaxy IC 610 and the galaxies NGC 3213 (dwarf spiral) and NGC 3222 (lenticular).
