On this page I collect my observations of the open star cluster M 7 (Ptolemy's Cluster; NGC 6475) in the constellation Scorpius.

Introduction

The open star cluster M 7 (Ptolemy's Cluster) in the constellation Scorpius forms, according to Stoyan, together with M 6 (Butterfly Cluster) an impressive cluster duo. But they are far too much apart to be seen together in the eVscope.

M 7 (NGC 6475)
Size: 80'   (Stoyan)
Distance: 980 light years (Stoyan)
Rating: ****   (Stoyan)
